Certified Biomedical Analyst position

The position can be started immediately or by agreement.

The Institute of Medical Virology at the University of Zurich is active in teaching, research, and diagnostics of viral diseases. As one of the largest virological institutes in Switzerland and as a National Reference Center for Retroviruses and Poliomyelitis, we have a broad spectrum of molecular biological and sequence-based methods, serology, and cell culture for the identification and characterization of human pathogenic viruses. The advertised position is located in the diagnostics department (accredited according to ISO 15189:2022).

Tasks

• Conducting virological diagnostic tests in the areas of molecular diagnostics, serology and virus culture
• Management of clinical samples (sample receipt, logistics, pre-analytics, etc.)
• Data collection, evaluation and assessment of test results
• Telephone information for senders

profile

• Training as a certified biomedical analyst (HF) or comparable vocational training
• Experience in laboratory work in the diagnostics field
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Office programs, etc.)
• precise, independent and responsible work ethic
• a team-oriented, flexible personality with a quick grasp of concepts and a high level of commitment
• good spoken and written German skills
• Experience with in-house real-time PCR is an advantage.
