Research Associate position in Neuroanatomy and Molecular Brain Research

The Department of Neuroanatomy and Molecular Brain Research addresses questions concerning the development, function, and diseases of the nervous system. Department staff participate in all teaching activities of the Institute of Anatomy. Our current research focuses on investigating neuronal processes modulated by the protein reelin, examining glioblastoma cells, and developing cerebral organoids. Our laboratory is equipped with a range of established morphological, cell biological, and molecular biological methods, as well as conventional and confocal microscopy, including live-cell imaging.

As a research assistant (m/f/d), you will independently and reliably prepare and conduct experiments, interpret the results, and take on teaching responsibilities for the first four semesters of human medicine.

Your tasks:

  • They participate in existing and/or develop their own research projects.
  • intensive collaboration in anatomy teaching for medical students
  • Acquisition of third-party funding

Your profile:

  • Completed studies (Master’s, Diploma, State Examination) in medicine, biology or comparable subjects
  • Professional experience in a comparable position is desirable.
  • Willingness to familiarize oneself with sub-areas of anatomical teaching
  • Enjoyment of working with students

Employment is on a salaried basis and is governed by the collective agreement for public sector employees of the German states (TV-L).
Upon fulfillment of the personal and collective agreement requirements, the position will be classified in pay grade E13 TV-L.

The scope of the teaching load is governed by Section 3 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Teaching Load Ordinance.

At the applicant’s request, the position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
