Research Associate position in – Project Management of a Research Consortium (geriatric oncology)

About Us

Faculty VI Medicine and Health Sciences encompasses the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neuroscience, psychology, and health services research. Together with the four regional hospitals, Faculty VI forms the University Medical Center Oldenburg. Furthermore, there is close cooperation with the University Medical Center of the University of Groningen.

The Department of Hematology/Oncology of Faculty VI – Medicine and Health Sciences is located at the University Hospital for Internal Medicine – Oncology and Hematology of the Oldenburg University Hospital and combines excellent patient care with university research and teaching. As part of the University Medicine Oldenburg, the department works in an interdisciplinary and translational research environment with close ties to the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg as well as national and international cooperation partners.

Your tasks

• Scientific coordination of the DigiToxAge consortium and close cooperation with the consortium partners to achieve the scientific project goals.
• Participation in the analysis and interpretation of scientific data, the development of study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the preparation of scientific publications and project reports.
• Overall coordination of the DigiToxAge / ALERT-CARE clinical trial in geriatric oncology. 
• Coordination of the participating study centers and sub-projects, as well as ensuring a protocol-compliant and timely study process. 
• Contact person for study centers, the coordination center for clinical studies and cooperation partners. 
• Planning and coordination of project schedules, milestones, contracts and study meetings. 
• Support for regulatory processes, project documentation, and translational research activities.

Your profile

Hiring requirements:

• A completed university degree (Diploma/Master’s) in health sciences, clinical research, life sciences, medical sciences, or a comparable field. A Master’s degree in biology, biomedicine, or a related field is advantageous. 
• Experience or a strong interest in coordinating clinical trials or scientific projects. 
• Excellent German skills (ideally C1 level or native speaker) and good English skills. 
• Structured, independent and meticulous work style with strong organizational and communication skills as well as a high awareness of quality. 
• Interest in translational research and collaboration with clinical and scientific project partners.

The following are advantageous:

• Experience in oncology, geriatrics, or the coordination of multicenter clinical trials. 
• Experience in project or study management in an academic or translational research environment. 
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, contract management, and collaboration with university or clinical partners. 
• High motivation, scientific curiosity and the ability to coordinate projects independently, in a structured and proactive manner.
