PhD position on the evolution of antibiotic resistance in human pathogens

Your tasks:

• Research on the evolution of antimicrobial resistance in human pathogens, including planning and performance of evolution experiments, genome analyses and genetic manipulation of bacteria
• Qualification for a doctoral thesis in the natural sciences
• Contribution to teaching (3 hours per semester) and general organization of the Schulenburg group

Your profile:

• Master of Science or equivalent
• Master thesis or equivalent in the field of Evolutionary Biology or Microbiology
• Competences and experiences in experimental as well as molecular laboratory work with microorganisms
• Knowledge in the field of statistics or bioinformatics
• english language skills level C 1

Soft skills:

• Quick comprehension, analytical thinking, and a structured, proactive approach to work
• Team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
