Scientific Associate position – investigations into the evolution, genetics and molecular basis of heteroresistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Your tasks:

  • Research on the evolution, genetics, and molecular basis of heteroresistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa as part of the ERC project CrypticBenefits, including performance and analysis of evolution experiments, genome analyses, genetic manipulation of microorganisms, and the use of high-throughput methods employing liquid-handling robots, plate readers, and flow cytometers .
  • Preparation of scientific publications reporting research findings.
  • Preparation and delivery of scientific presentations and poster presentations.
  • Participation in meetings, networking events, retreats, and scientific conferences.
  • Contribution to the organization of the Schulenburg research group, including laboratory organization
  • Advanced qualifications in the fields of experimental evolutionary biology, genome analysis, and statistics.

Your profile:

  • PhD in the area of Evolutionary Biology
  • In-depth knowledge of the central concepts of Evolutionary Biology
  • Competences and experiences in research on Evolution of microorganisms
  • Competences and experiences in the field of Statistics and Bioinformatics
  • very good english language skills

Soft skills:

  • Quick comprehension, analytical thinking, and a structured, proactive approach to work
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
