The Institute for Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology (IIZP) in the Department of Biology at the University of Münster is seeking to fill a permanent position as of November 1, 2026.
Research Associate (E13 TV-L)
The position is to be filled with 100% of the regular weekly working hours. The teaching load is 8 semester hours per week.
Your tasks:
- Participation in research and teaching in the Department of Cell Biology, which represents expertise in the fields of cell biology, molecular biology, protein biochemistry and yeast genetics.
- Supervision of research and cooperation projects in the field of yeast cell biology, with a focus on intracellular communication and protein homeostasis
- Development of new cell biological and protein biochemical methods for the analysis and manipulation of organelle function and organelle communication
- Development, organization and implementation of courses in the field of cell biology and molecular genetics in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in biology
- Imparting specialist knowledge to students and instruction in the application of yeast genetic, protein biochemical and flow cytometric methods.
- Taking over central tasks of laboratory organization and laboratory safety
- Participation in the self-governance of the biology department
Our expectations:
- A university degree in biology and a doctorate in the field of cell biology of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae)
- Several years of proven experience in yeast genetics is required.
- Relevant experience with current approaches to flow cytometry using the yeast model system is required.
- Relevant experience in protein biochemistry as well as knowledge of the analysis of protein homeostasis and protein aggregation in the yeast model system are required.
- Fluent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
- Experience in the conception, planning and implementation of teaching courses
