Position of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under the project “Development and evaluation of next generation dwarf and high yielding oil palm hybrids”

Position Summary

ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research (IIOPR), Research Centre, Palode, Pacha (P.O.), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, invites applications for one contractual, purely temporary Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position through a walk-in interview (F. No. 431/2022).

The post is under the project “Development and evaluation of next generation dwarf and high yielding oil palm hybrids.” The remuneration is ₹37,000 per month plus HRA as applicable. The duration is one year, extendable by one year or more based on rules, and co-terminus with the project.

The essential qualification is an M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Breeding, or PGR, with a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Horticulture from an ICAR-recognized university; or an M.Sc. in Plant Science/Botany with NET qualification and two years of research experience. Desirable qualifications include a Ph.D. and experience in plant breeding/horticulture/germplasm evaluation, along with knowledge of computer and statistical analysis.

The age limit is 35 years for male and 40 years for female candidates, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Government of India norms.

The walk-in interview will be held on 7 July 2026 at 10:00 AM at ICAR-IIOPR, Research Centre, Palode, Thiruvananthapuram–695562. Applicants must bring original certificates and a brief of research work carried out earlier, along with one set of photocopies of all certificates and testimonials. Candidates currently employed elsewhere must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer, plus an original experience certificate (if any).

The place of posting is at IIOPR, Research Centre, Palode, though the work involves travel outside Kerala as well. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. The decision of the Director, ICAR-IIOPR, Pedavegi, Andhra Pradesh, will be final and binding in all aspects.
