Position Summary
BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI), an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, located at Knowledge City, Sector-81, Mohali, Punjab, invites candidates to a walk-in/online interview for one temporary Project Associate-I position (Advt. No. NABI/Admin/5(09)/2026-27/Academic-5).
The post is under the project “Developing abiotic stress tolerant high-yielding ‘STuRDY’ rice in mega variety Swarna through genome editing” (GAP-92), with Prof. Ashwani Pareek (Executive Director, BRIC-NABI) as Principal Investigator. The appointment is initially for one year, extendable annually based on satisfactory progress.
The essential qualification is a postgraduate degree in any branch of life sciences/biotechnology (or a Graduate/Postgraduate in these fields), selected through one of the following: (a) National Eligibility Tests — CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship and GATE; or (b) national-level examinations conducted by central government departments and agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER. Desirable experience includes general plant molecular biology, plant tissue culture techniques, and plant transformation.
The emoluments are ₹31,000 + HRA for NET/GATE-qualified candidates and ₹25,000 + HRA for non-NET/GATE candidates (as per DST OM SR/S9/Z-05/2019). The age limit is 28 years as on the date of interview, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PD as per GoI rules.
The walk-in interview is on 6 July 2026 at 9:00 AM at BRIC-NABI, Mohali; the duly filled application form (downloadable from www.nabi.res.in) must be submitted at registration between 9:00–10:00 AM. The last date to submit the online application is 1 July 2026. Candidates with special circumstances may request an online interview from the PI at least one week in advance with a valid reason.
