Junior Research Fellow position for a project titled- “Identification of early diagnostic molecules in sepsis patients as a marker for sepsis-associated thrombosis”

Position Summary

The Department of Molecular & Human Genetics, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a sanctioned research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), New Delhi, titled “Identification of early diagnostic molecules in sepsis patients as a marker for sepsis-associated thrombosis” (Project No. P-07/1357).

The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, with a maximum duration of three years. The fellowship is ₹37,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the first two years, increasing to ₹42,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the third year. The upper age limit is 35 years, relaxable by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST/physically handicapped/female candidates, as per GoI rules.

The essential qualification is a first-class postgraduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular & Human Genetics, Zoology, Animal Science, or Life Sciences, with a qualified CSIR-UGC NET/GATE. The desirable qualification gives preference to candidates with hands-on experience in isolating blood cells (neutrophils) and platelets, and with mice handling experience.
