Project Associate – I/ Junior Research Fellow position for project titled “Omics-guided mapping of polyphenol-derived metabolites as sustainable antimicrobials against MDR bacteria”

Position Summary

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (a Central University), Srinagar Garhwal, Uttarakhand, invites applications from motivated and eligible candidates for one Project Associate-I / Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the research project titled “Omics-guided mapping of polyphenol-derived metabolites as sustainable antimicrobials against MDR bacteria” (File No. ANRF/ECRG/2025/000832/LS). The project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) under the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant (PMECRG) Program (Ref. No. HNBGU/ANRF/2026/003).

The position is co-terminus with the project, with a duration of up to 36 months, subject to annual renewal (1+1+1 years) based on satisfactory performance. The monthly emolument is ₹37,000 + HRA for candidates selected through national eligibility tests — CSIR-UGC NET (JRF/LS), GATE, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, or an equivalent national-level examination qualified within the last one year (or through a national-level selection process conducted by central government departments/agencies); otherwise ₹30,000 + HRA. The upper age limit is 50 years, with relaxation for women, persons with disabilities, and SC/ST/OBC candidates as per ANRF norms.

The essential qualification is a Four-Year Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Environmental Sciences, or other relevant Life Sciences fields, with a minimum of 55% marks. Desirable: research experience in microbiology, natural products, metabolomics, or antimicrobial research; familiarity with omics approaches and HPLC/LC-MS/GC-MS instrumentation or bioinformatics tools; and peer-reviewed publications.
