Several Veterinary Assistant Positions (m/f/d) Full-time or Part-time Permanent Salary Group 5 TV-L FU Reference: PK Emergency Service

The equine clinic at the Veterinary Hospital of the Free University of Berlin offers a 24-hour emergency service, 7 days a week. In addition, hospitalized animals also require care and monitoring during evenings, nights, and weekends
They actively support our team during these times in the treatment of animals and the care of housed patients. Diverse areas of responsibility ensure an interesting and varied range of tasks.
Responsibilities:
– Assisting with examinations, treatments, documentation, and administration
– Observing the behavior and health of horses, recording vital signs, and administering medication
– Processing blood samples using laboratory equipment
– Supporting surgical preparation and follow-up, including cleanup during emergency service hours
– Assisting with the care of stabled patients (feeding, watering, leading horses)
– Cleaning and disinfection work (mucking out)
Hiring requirements:
Completed training as a veterinary assistant (m/f/d) or comparable expertise and experience
Desired:
– Willingness to work flexible shifts, including late shifts, night shifts, weekends, and holidays, according to agreed-upon schedules
– Familiarity with handling horses
– Basic knowledge of horse care, feeding, and husbandry requirements
– Excellent communication skills in German
– Reliability, diligence, and teamwork skills
– Interest in hospital hygiene
– High level of self-motivation
