YOUR TASKS
The field covers a very broad range of methods. Responsibilities include supervising laboratories, independently managing laboratory equipment, conducting laboratory analyses, and supervising students in the laboratory (theses, courses).
- The independent execution of the analysis for the biological and chemical characterization of soil samples.
- Maintenance and operation of measuring instruments (including HPLC, GC-MS, real-time PCR).
- Conducting molecular biological analyses and measurements in isotope experiments.
- Support for laboratory experiments in research and teaching.
- Supervision of (international) students in the laboratory.
- Preparation of analysis results using standard programs such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Independent ordering and billing of laboratory materials; general organization of the laboratory.
YOUR PROFILE
We are seeking a state-certified Technical Assistant. Further experience and qualifications in the scientific field are desirable. The following expertise and qualifications are expected:
- Excellent knowledge in the biological and chemical analysis of soil samples.
- Prior knowledge of working with modern methods in chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- Experience with molecular biology work (DNA extraction from soil, quantitative PCR).
- Basic IT skills for data processing and operation of the ordering system.
- Excellent German language skills, good communication skills in English.
- Organizational skills for independently conducting laboratory analyses, as well as a basic interest in scientific work.
- Good teamwork and communication skills, and experience in dealing with students.
