Salary
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): ₹37,000 + HRA/month for 1st and 2nd year; ₹42,000 + HRA/month for 3rd year, as applicable under ICAR norms.
- Young Professional-I (YP-I): ₹30,000/month (fixed); no HRA.

Eligibility
For Senior Research Fellow (SRF):
- Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Biotechnology with 4/5 years bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates with a 3 years bachelor’s degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification or equivalent, or a Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines as prescribed under ICAR guidelines.
For Young Professional-I (YP-I):
- Graduation degree in Agricultural Science or Diploma in Agricultural Sciences / Life Sciences and Equivalent and as per ICAR rule from a recognized university.
Requirements
Desirable Qualifications for Senior Research Fellow (SRF):
- Experience in Molecular Breeding, molecular breeding, biotechnology, and proficiency in computer application.
Desirable Qualifications for Young Professional-I (YP-I):
- Working knowledge of computer and MS Office or Hands on experience of working on Molecular markers/Emasculation and pollination work.
Age Limit
- Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Maximum age is 35 years (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC).
- Young Professional-I (YP-I): Minimum age is 21 years and Maximum age is 45 years as on the date of interview (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST/Women and three years for OBC).

- Walk-in Interview Date: 22/09/2026 from 10.00 A.M. onwards.
How to Apply
- Candidates must bring the duly filled and signed application form along with original copies of educational and other relevant documents, and one set of self-attested photocopies for verification at the time of interview.
- Documents to bring compulsorily: filled-in application form, all original certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, original or provisional degree certificate, one set of self-attested photocopies of all required certificates from matriculation onwards, an attested copy of a recent passport size photograph pasted onto the application form, and proof of experience and publications.
- Candidates with near or distant relatives employed at ICAR/IARI must declare their name, designation, nature of duties, and relationship in writing. For the SRF post, this declaration must reach the Head, Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi by 22.09.2026. For the YP-I post, this declaration must reach via email to rajeranjeet@gmail.com on or before 21/09/2026 (5:30 PM).
- All other candidates must compulsorily furnish the signed declaration on the date of interview.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
