About Us

Faculty VI Medicine and Health Sciences encompasses the fields of human medicine, medical physics and acoustics, neuroscience, psychology, and health services research. Together with the four regional hospitals, Faculty VI forms the University Medical Center Oldenburg. Furthermore, there is close cooperation with the University Medical Center of the University of Groningen.

The research activities of Faculty VI are supported by two research officers in the office, particularly during the application phase for externally funded projects. In addition, the faculty has internal research funding programs, which are also managed by the research officers.

Your tasks

  • Information and advice for scientists on suitable research funding programs for individual and collaborative projects, especially in the medical and health science research fields.
  • Advice and support during the application phase 
  • Coordination and support of intramural support programs 
  • Planning and implementation of information events and workshops on research funding opportunities

Your profile

Hiring requirements:

  • Relevant, completed university degree (Diploma (Uni)/ Master’s) in the field of natural or life sciences 
  • Experience in conducting scientific research projects and/or clinical trials 
  • Knowledge of the organization and structures of the research funding system in a national and international context
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills
  • Excellent English skills

The following are advantageous:

  • PhD in a natural or life science subject
  • Experience in the implementation and management of externally funded projects and in advising researchers 
  • Experience in project and science management
  • Ability to multitask
