The position is within the externally funded project “Endowed Professorship in Human-Animal Studies” and    is a fixed-term appointment in accordance with Section 2 of the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG) and Section 72 of the Hessian Higher Education Act (HessHG), offering the opportunity for further academic qualification at the Professorship for Human-Animal Studies in the Department of Veterinary Medicine. Remuneration will be based on pay grade 13 of the TV-H collective agreement, provided the necessary qualifications are met.

Provided that the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term employment contract is not exceeded, they will be employed for a period of 3 years.

Your tasks at a glance

Research on a central topic in wildlife research (including behavior under anthropogenic influences) with a focus on the human-animal relationship.

  • Participation in the creation and presentation of scientific publications
  • Supervision of junior students

Providing scientific services (including working on a research project temporarily funded by third parties) also serves the purpose of scientific qualification.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Completed university degree in veterinary medicine
  • Willingness to learn new methods and to conduct interdisciplinary research
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills as well as good German and English skills.
