The Department of Veterinary Medicine at Freie Universität Berlin is one of five veterinary medicine institutions in Germany and serves as the central university contact point for veterinary medicine issues in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
As part of the “Berlin University Alliance,” the department collaborates with numerous university and non-university research institutions. Diverse areas of activity and the unique environment of a University of Excellence in Berlin ensure an interesting and varied range of tasks in teaching, research, and service.

The Small Animal and Companion Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Hospital Freie Universität Berlin is the central university contact point for veterinary clinical services in the field of small animal and companion animal medicine in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, which has more than 6 million inhabitants. In addition to our strong commitment to teaching and research, we, as a tertiary care center, focus on the medical care of all types of small pets and small wild animals, with a 24/7 emergency service.

Responsibilities:

Our current team of 50 is looking for your active support in the following areas:
• participation in patient care, teaching, and research at the small animal and pet clinic
• participation in the 24/7 emergency service
• independent patient care
• theoretical and practical training of students and trainees Clinic staff
• Documentation of patient care
• Communication with pet owners

Hiring requirements:

• Completed academic university degree in veterinary medicine
• License to practice as a veterinarian or permit to practice veterinary medicine

Desired qualifications:

• High motivation and reliability
• Experience in handling small animals and pets and their owners
• Interest in and commitment to student training in theory and practice
• Communication skills and teamwork skills
• Good German (B2) and English language skills
