About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Computational Oncology Group within the Department of Surgery and Cancer. This post is funded by Brain Tumour Research as part of the prestigious Imperial Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence.
What you would be doing
The successful candidate will contribute to a pioneering translational research programme focused on understanding and analysing data from near‑patient sensing tools in cancer patients. You will play a central role in designing, implementing, and delivering data analysis pipelines required to meet key scientific and funding milestones.

What we are looking for
You will have a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related technical discipline, with strong experience in computational research and data analysis.
Essential skills and experience:
- Expertise in common machine learning tools and software.
- Experience analysing data from wearable or similar devices.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and their implementation in software.
- Familiarity with data protection and information governance standards.
- Track record of designing and delivering computational research projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A creative, problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new methods.
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when project requirements demand it.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad to conduct research and attend conferences.

This role is for a fixed-term contract for 24 months with a possibility of an extension.
