The Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding (460g) contributes to the elucidation of genetic variations in traits relevant to animal breeding in farm animals. The focus is on traits related to robustness, efficiency, and health. The group develops selection methods to optimize these traits through breeding and to ensure the sustainable use of genetic variation.
The group primarily applies innovative quantitative and molecular genetic methods and integrates these with the methodological approaches of related fields in interdisciplinary research projects.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Teaching: Preparing for and following up on lectures, supervising students, assisting with seminars, preparing for and following up on exercises Research: Supporting research activities within the research group in general, and specifically focusing on the analysis and breeding of farm animals, as well as the application of modern methods in molecular genetics and quantitative genetics Independent research activities in the fields of molecular and statistical genomics Maintenance, upkeep, and further development of the research group’s IT infrastructure

YOUR PROFILE A completed university degree and a Ph.D. in the natural sciences or agricultural sciences are preferred Publication record (peer-reviewed), teaching experience Strong communication skills and a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration Experience in the field of IT administration
