We are seeking to fill a position starting July 1, 2026 , on a fixed-term basis, part-time/full-time (up to 39.83 hours/week = 100% )
Biological-technical assistant (m/f/d)
The research group is dedicated to investigating the molecular replication mechanisms and clinical transmission routes of hepatitis and coronaviruses, which cause serious infections in humans. The main goal is to contribute to the development of new strategies for prevention and treatment. This position is part of a comprehensive research program aimed at establishing the CRISPR-Cas9 system for high-throughput screening of viral host factors.
Your tasks:
- Conducting molecular biological and cell biological experiments
- Polymerase chain reaction and cloning strategies
- Purification of DNA , RNA and proteins
- Support in establishing a screening platform for conducting high-throughput screening using CRISPR/Cas9 technology
- Maintenance and care of the cell culture of primary cells as well as established cell lines
- Conducting virological experiments (purification, detection and modification of viral nucleic acids)
- Assistance/support in molecular biological, cell biological and virological work in diverse scientific projects
- Tasks in laboratory organization
Your profile:
- Completed training as a BTA or alternative qualification for the above tasks
- Experience in cell and molecular logic laboratory work
- Experience in working with viral pathogens (virus cultivation; infection experiments)
- Basic English skills
- Solid knowledge of standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Teamwork skills, social competence and organizational skills
- Prior experience in the aforementioned activities

Employment is on a salaried basis and is governed by the collective agreement for public sector employees of the German states (TV-L). Classification is based on fulfillment of personal and collective agreement requirements up to pay grade 9a TV-L.
