Eligibility

• Master’s Degree in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade).
• Must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, ICAR, or similar test accredited by the UGC.
• Candidates awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards & Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009 or subsequent regulations are exempted from the requirement of NET.
• Candidates registered for Ph.D. prior to July 11, 2009, may be exempted from NET subject to specific conditions regarding the Ph.D. degree, thesis evaluation, viva-voce, publications, and conference presentations.
• NET is not required for disciplines where NET is not conducted.
• A relaxation of 5% marks is provided to Ph.D. degree holders who passed their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991.
• Retired University/College teachers of the concerned discipline can also apply.
• The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Salary

• Master’s Degree holder: Rs. 850/- per contact hour (maximum of Rs. 35,000/- per month).
• Ph.D. Degree holder: Rs. 1000/- per contact hour (maximum of Rs. 42,000/- per month).
• Additional remuneration of Rs. 5000/- per semester for duties including registration, conducting examinations, invigilation, setting question papers, evaluating answer books, and counseling students.
