Centre for Molecular Neurosciences, Dept. of Anatomy, KMC, Manipal; Department of Psychiatry, KMC, Manipal; and School of Computer Engineering at MIT, Manipal.

Eligibility

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Biotechnology or a related discipline; or
• First Class M.Sc. in Natural Sciences with three years of research and development experience; or
• First Class M.E./M.Tech. with two years of experience, as per ICMR norms.

Desirable Qualifications

• Drosophila genetics, behavioural analysis, Python/R for time-series behavioural data, confocal imaging.

Responsibilities

• Establish circuit-specific manipulation for sleep behaviour analysis and perform the Drosophila stress assays.
• Build sleep recording video apparatus and carry out sleep phenotyping and pharmacological assays.
• Day-to-day mentoring of project staff and students; other duties as assigned.
• Work in a highly collaborative and inter-disciplinary environment including researchers, engineers and clinicians.
• Manage multiple priorities.

Duration
Up to 3 years, co-terminus with the project, subject to annual review of performance.
