Work assignments
This position involves project management, experimental planning, and laboratory work in molecular immunology. The project focuses on the cell biology and molecular regulation of hypoxia in cell types relevant to the rheumatoid arthritis synovium, using techniques including molecular cloning, lentivirus generation and transduction, proximity labelling and mass spectrometry, and microscopy. The lab works on the development of new cellular and molecular methods to study adaptive immunity and autoimmune disease.
As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.
Qualifications
To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.
We are looking for someone with a PhD in biological sciences with experience in the following:
- molecular cloning (including Gibson assembly)
- preparation of samples and analysis of mass spectrometry data
- proximity labelling
- immunofluorescence imaging and confocal microscopy
- quantitative automated image analysis
- cell culture of mammalian cells and co-culture systems
- lentivirus generation and transduction
- programming in R
The position further requires familiarity with current research in cellular hypoxia, immunology, autoimmunity, and mass spectrometry.
Additional experience with live-imaging, RT-qPCR, flow cytometry, culture of amoebas, and handling endothelial cells, along with familiarity with biomolecular condensate research will be considered highly meritorious.
