The Dean of the Faculty of Science of the University of Ostrava announces a job vacancy at the Department of Biology and Ecology
- Postdoc/Researcher II (R2)
This is newly systemized position in accordance with the conditions of the GAČR 26-20659S project
Expected start:
- 01.03.2026 (fixed-term employment until February 28, 2027)
Expected workload:
- 30 %
Job responsibilities:
- In silico analysis of biofilms in various trypanosomatid species.
- Bioinformatic analysis of proteoglycans in trypanosomatids.
- Bioinformatic analysis of proteins involved in polysaccharide metabolism in trypanosomatids: correlation with biofilm production.
- Bioinformatic analysis of proteins involved in lipid metabolism in trypanosomatids: correlation with proteoglycan anchoring in membranes.
- In silico analysis of membrane rafts.

Requirements
Education Level: PhD or equivalent
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion (Graduation) of a Doctoral Study Program (Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
- Experience in the field of Polymer Chemistry, evidenced by a minimum of 10 publications in journals with an Impact Factor.
- Experience in the field of Cheminformatics (Chemical Informatics) is welcome/advantageous.
- Work experience at a research institution outside the Czech Republic for a total duration of at least 1 year.
- English language proficiency at level B2; other languages are an advantage.
- Independence and ability to work in a team
- EU Research level: R2 – Recognized.
