Position of Academic Assisstant (part-time) in Bioinformatics

Website Technical University of Denmark

We are looking for an ambitious colleague to help us collect, organize, and present data, maintain and support our bioinformatic tools, and generally support the group and its students. A specific focus here will be the development of web-based tools (shiny or similar) for presenting and making data available.

In the group, you will work closely with talented researchers who want to make a difference. Importantly you will be joining a collaborative group where you get a lot of support but also a lot of autonomy. You can read more about the background and the group at www.healthtech.dtu.dk/Isoform-Analysis.

Qualifications needed:

  • Highly skilled in R
  • Experience with developing web-based tools (shiny or similar)
  • Experience with developing/maintaining bioinformatic tools (e.g. IsoformSwitchAnalyzeR)
  • Experience with developing (bioinformatic) pipelines
  • Applied analysis of various high-throughput omics data
  • Data collection, organization and QC
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree

We offer you a varied job with personal challenge, where you will gain experience with applied bioinformatic/data-science analysis, pipeline development and reproducibility tools like GitHub. Scientifically you will help us build a framework enabling isoform analysis. You will naturally receive ample training in required task and mentoring.

We imagine that the position will be relevant for a master’s student.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

Working hours are 9 hours per week. Starting date is 1 August 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The employment is for 10 months.
