Requirement
- High motivation and strong interest in microbiology and beverage fermentation
- Completed Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Biology, Microbiology or a related discipline
- Experience in the cultivation and isolation of microbial strains
- Experience in the characterization of microbial strains and fermentation systems
- Experience in or willingness to learn bioinformatics, statistical data analysis, data processing, and analytical-chemical methods.
- Evidence of scientific activity (publications, conference papers, awards) is desirable.
- Project management, analysis, and scientific writing skills are an advantage.
- Teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with national and international partners
- Willingness to participate in teaching
- Excellent English skills
Tasks
- Isolation, cultivation and preservation of microbial strains from fermented beverage systems
- Physiological, genomic and functional characterization of microbial strains
- Planning and optimization of fermentation experiments on a laboratory scale
- Analysis of chemical and microbiological parameters
- Integration of microbiological and fermentation-related datasets
- Publication of the results in scientific journals
- Assistance in the preparation of grant applications
- Support in teaching
