The Department of Animal Sciences, Division of Biotechnology and Reproduction of Farm Animals, at the University of Göttingen, is seeking to fill a position as a

research assistant (doctoral candidate) (m/f/d)

as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65% of regular weekly working hours, currently 25.87 hours/week) and is limited to a three-year term. Salary is based on pay grade 13 TV-L.

The responsibilities include:
• working on a research project within the framework of the collaborative project agri:change on the significance of heat stress in pig embryos
• instructing and supervising a technical staff member in the project
• assisting with student internships

Required profile:
• A completed university degree in agricultural sciences, biology, veterinary medicine, or related fields (Diploma or Master’s) is required
• Interest in the in vitro production of pig embryos
• In-depth interest in scientific questions
• Willingness to pursue a doctorate and to be admitted to the Graduate School of Forest and Agricultural Sciences (GFA) at the University of Göttingen
• Willingness to supervise project-related theses (BSc and MSc theses)
• Ability to communicate with external project partners
• Willingness to collaborate in an interdisciplinary and international working group

The position is intended to support the qualification of early-career researchers and offers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
