To strengthen the Pharmaceutical Biochemistry and Molecular Therapies Administration units, the Pharmaceutical Sciences Section of the Faculty of Science is seeking a

Laboratory technician, -e 3

at 80%

 Class 13

Within the Pharmaceutical Biochemistry and Molecular Therapies Administration groups and the Pharmaceutical Sciences section, drug discovery and development activities, using an interdisciplinary approach typical of chemical biology and medicinal/therapeutic chemistry, are and will be essential. In this context, the candidate will be responsible for:

  • The development and optimization of cell assays
    • Design, develop and optimize robust, reproducible cell-based assays adapted to drug discovery/chemical biology objectives
    • Select relevant cell models based on the biological targets and mechanisms of action being studied.
    • Implement cloning, transfections, and the generation of stable cell lines
    • Optimize experimental conditions, and develop and validate functional readouts.
    • Implement tests compatible with high-speed platforms and state-of-the-art equipment (e.g., FDSS uCELL)
    • Evaluate the quality of the tests (robustness, variability, Z-factor, dynamic window) and ensure their compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
    • Ensure the transferability of trials to other users or teams (detailed protocols, training, troubleshooting)
  • In-house expression, production and purification of proteins and antibodies
  • The performance of animal experiments
  • The analysis, critical discussion and synthesis of the results obtained, and the formulation of scientific proposals for the continuation of the work, with a high degree of autonomy
  • Training and supervision of apprentices in connection with the UFA
  • Support for research collaborator projects (e.g., doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers)
  • Laboratory management: inventory, organization and monitoring of needs
  • Regular communication with suppliers and external collaborators

Required qualifications and skills

  • CFC laboratory technician
  • Minimum 5 years experience in drug discovery and development
  • Proven experience in animal experimentation (Module 1 required)
  • Experience in training apprentices
  • Experience in managing the operations of a laboratory of approximately 15-20 people

Technical skills

  • Development of in vitro / ex vivo assays
  • Advanced Molecular and Cellular Biology
  • Production and purification of proteins/antibodies
  • Data analysis and processing using Excel, GraphPad Prism, and databases (e.g., DataWarrior, CDD Vault)

Personal qualities

  • Experimental rigor and organizational skills
  • Analytical, synthesis and decision-making skills
  • Passion for teaching and training
  • Strong scientific autonomy
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit
