Applications are invited on plain paper for the following posts in an ANRF-sponsored project entitled, “TRACKING LONG-TERM SHELF EDGE VARIABILITY AND MASS TRANSPORT COMPLEXES ALONG THE WESTERN INDIAN CONTINENTAL MARGIN”.

Essential Qualification-: Candidate should have an M.Sc. degree in Geophysics/Applied Geophysics/ Geology/Applied Geology/Earth Sciences/Marine Sciences/Environmental Sciences or equivalent with an excellent academic record. The candidate should necessarily have qualified the GATE/ CSIR/UGC-NET or equivalent exam.

Desirable Qualification: Candidates with hands-on experience in geophysical/seismic/well-log data processing, interpretation and modelling along with proficiency in GIS tools would be preferred.

Salary: Rs. 37,000 + 30% HRA per month (as per DST/ANRF norms).

Nature and tenure of the position: The position is purely temporary in nature and subject to the availability of funds. To undertake seismic/geophysical/geological data processing and interpretation in order to meet project objectives. The assigned tasks would include field observations, lab processing, travel at sea and geospatial modelling leading to peer review publications. The appointment would initially be for 12 months and may be extended further (subject to satisfactory progress) until the fund availability or the completion of the project, whichever is earlier. However, if the fellow’s progress is unsatisfactory, he/she may be terminated from the project anytime.
