Eligibility requirements

Eligible to be employed as a university lecturer is someone who has demonstrated pedagogical skills, has completed a doctoral degree, or has equivalent competence that is of importance with regard to the subject content of the position and the duties that will be included in the position.

All teaching positions at Stockholm University require that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable to fulfill the duties.

Higher education pedagogical training

Higher education teaching training or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is an advantage. An applicant who lacks higher education teaching training of at least 15 credits and who is also not considered to have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways must undergo such training during the first two years of employment.

Assessment criteria

During the employment process, special emphasis will be placed on scientific and pedagogical skills. Scientific skills will primarily be assessed within the subject area of ​​the employment.

Other information

The applicant is expected to teach courses in ecology, faunistics and/or physiology at undergraduate and advanced levels.

Swedish language proficiency is not a requirement for the appointment, but the applicant must be prepared to take on administrative and pedagogical tasks that require a good understanding of Swedish within a couple of years.
