SCIENTIFIC POSITION Junior Group Leader in Virology (M/F)

This is a researcher position (VP2). We offer the opportunity to establish a research group that will be based in a Joint laboratory, shared by the Faculty of Science and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. A generous, negotiable starting package that includes laboratory and office space, investments in the necessary equipment, consumables, and salaries for several coworkers/students. The candidate will also have access to a fully equipped BSL3 laboratory, and projects utilizing this facility are expected to be acentral focus of the research.

Qualification and Other Requirements:

Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline, international postdoc experience in virology

 Expertise in various aspects of infectious virology

 Experience with related experimental techniques.

 Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

 Independence, accountability, and reliability

 Communication and management skills

 Experience with student leadership

Required education:

Ph.D., CSc, Th.D. or comparable education abroad

Required language skills:

Czech – B2 Independent UserEnglish – C2 Proficient User

Employment Type and Scope:

Full time employment, 40 hours per week

January 01, 2027 or negotiable

Duration of Contract:

3 years
