Academic Staff Member in Soil Science

Your tasks

• Organization of the department’s laboratory and maintenance of the analytical equipment
• Conducting pedological and soil chemistry courses in German or English, comprising four semester hours per week, also abroad and lasting several days.
• Development and implementation of soil chemical/pedological research projects for further qualification
• Supervision/instruction of employed laboratory staff, students in lectures and project staff
• (Co-)development of new soil chemical methods

Your profile

• Completed university studies and doctorate in soil science
• Experience in soil science teaching, especially field training, in German and English
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of the methods used in the laboratory (IR, XRD, XRF, MP-AES, elemental analysis (C, N), wet chemical methods, DTA)
• Experience with laboratory-relevant safety regulations and standards
• Experience in writing scientific publications and in developing and applying for third-party funded projects.
• Knowledge of the soils and geological conditions of Baden-Württemberg
