Missions
As part of the activities of the Department of Biology, the person hired will be required to:
• Provide supervision (tutorials/practical work), mainly for Biochemistry and Laboratory Techniques courses, intended for undergraduate Biology students.
• Undertake research work within the framework of a doctoral thesis in Cell Biology within the Cell Biology Research Unit, (URBC-NARILIS) ( https://www.unamur.be/fr/sciences/biologie/recherche/urbc ). The research project is situated within the context of the influence of metabolism on the process of cell differentiation or cell transdifferentiation.
• Participate in the organization and projects of the Department of Biology and the URBC.
Profile
Those who apply must hold, at the time of taking up the position, a 120-credit master’s degree in the field of biology or a diploma deemed equivalent by the selection committee.
The required skills and qualities are as follows:
• Quality of academic background (suitability of the diploma to the position, grades obtained and duration of the career);
• Demonstrate a strong interest in teaching and show pedagogical skills;
• Expertise/A strong interest in biochemistry and the biology of organelles and/or stem cells is an asset;
• Ability and motivation to develop quality scientific research proposed in relation to the theme proposed in the “Organelle Biology” team ( https://www.unamur.be/fr/unite-ou-equipe-de-recherche/urbc-poc/orbi );
• Possess and demonstrate good communication skills;
• Proficiency in French and English (reading, writing, speaking);
• Autonomy and organization, while also being able to work in a team.
