Research Technician in Circadian Biology of Asthma

Website The University of Manchester

We are seeking a Research Technician for 12-months to provide technical support for the Durrington Group’s research into the circadian biology of asthma. The successful candidate will provide technical support with minimal supervision, including running and troubleshooting experiments and maintaining and using research-associated equipment. The role will support the downstream processing of both mouse and human samples across several projects, including RNA sequencing, cytokine Bio-Plex/ELISA, histology and immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cell culture and lung slice models.

The post-holder will support members of the group, help supervise and teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, maintain accurate records and contribute to ensuring health and safety compliance within the laboratories. The role will help generate high-quality data for research outputs including presentations and publications, while supporting studies that aim to improve understanding of the mechanisms underlying asthma.

As this is a circadian research group, some out-of-hours work, usually evenings or overnight, will be required.

The University of Manchester values a diverse workforce and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
