Project Technical Support – III position for a project titled- “Development and validation of CRISPR-Cas integrated Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification diagnostic test of the rapid detection of antibiotic – resistant Klebsiella Pneumoniae”

Number of Vacancies: 01 Position (UR)
Remuneration: Rs.28,000/- + HRA per month (Consolidated)
Tenure: Initially for up to one year (extendable up to Project Completion). Position is temporary and terminus at any point in time.
Place of Work: ICMR-NIHR, Jodhpur or anywhere in India on the project requirements.

Essential Qualifications:
– Graduate Degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences / Genetics / Life Sciences with three years post-qualification experience in the relevant subject
OR
– Post Graduate Degree in Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biomedical Sciences / Genetics/Life Sciences.
– Qualifications should be achieved from recognized Institutions / Universities only.

Desirable Qualifications:
– Experience of working in Klebsiella pneumoniae diagnostics and CRISPR-Cas technology for diagnostics.
– Hands-on experience with antimicrobial resistance studies, especially in Klebsiella pneumoniae and other Gram-negative bacteria, and experience in bacterial resistance profiling.
– Knowledge of diagnostic platform development, particularly in relation to point-of-care testing or low-cost diagnostic systems.
– Proficiency in molecular biology techniques (e.g., nucleic acid extraction, qPCR, multiplex PCR, LAMP, gel electrophoresis, sequencing, etc.) and bioinformatics tools for genome sequence analysis and diagnostics.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot experimental issues, and project management skills.

Age Limit:
– Not exceeding 35 years on the date of the walk-in interview / written test.
– Age relaxation will be admissible in respect of SC / ST / OBC candidates, retrenched Government Employees, Departmental Candidates (including projects) and Ex-servicemen in accordance with Central Government / DoPT / ICMR instructions.
– Age concession to the extent of service rendered in other research projects will also be admissible for experienced and skilled persons.
– SC / ST / OBC age relaxation applies only to positions reserved for them, not for UR positions.
– EWS reservation conditions governed by DoPT OM No. 336039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 19.01.2019 and 31.01.2019. EWS candidates must submit an “Income and Asset Certificate”.

Selection Process:
– Only eligible candidates will appear for Walk-in-interview / written test.
– In case of more than 30 candidates, a written test may be taken.
– Qualifying marks for the written test: SC/ST: 35%, UR / OBC / EWS: 40%.
– If a written test is conducted, generally up to Top 05 candidates will be interviewed for this position.
– Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test / interview subject to qualifying the skill test, wherever applicable.
– The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of the marks of the written test and interview.
– In case of non-conductance of written test (less than 30 candidates), the merit shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the interview.

Important Notes:
– The advertised positions are purely on temporary basis only.
– Candidates who have rendered service in ICMR Projects / ICMR Institutes for more than three years are not eligible for this Walk-in.
– No TA / DA will be given for attending Walk-in-interview / written test.
– No benefit of Provident Fund, Leave Travel Concession, Medical, etc. will be available to the appointee.
– Age, Qualification, Experience etc., will be reckoned as on the date of Walk-in-interview / written test.
– Experience from the date of completion of minimum essential educational qualification shall only be counted.
– The Director, ICMR-NIHR reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of project positions or cancel the recruitment or re-advertise the project positions at any time.
– Date of Interview / written test may be changed due to administrative reasons. Candidates are advised to check website before appearing for Interview / written test.
