Salary
- For candidates having age upto 65 years: Remuneration at the last pay drawn (basic pay + NPA as applicable) minus pension (basic) subject to a minimum of Rs. 1.0 lakh per month.
- For candidates with the age between 65 to 70 years: Negotiable fixed salary maximum upto Rs. 1.0 lakh per month.
- Note: The retired persons so appointed will not be eligible for any benefit under CPF/GPF/NPS and will not be eligible for any other allowance(s) during the period of contract.

Eligibility
- Teachers/scientists retired from any University/Institute.
- Contract duration: Initial period of one year.
Requirements
General Requirements for all posts:
- Must have passed Matriculation examination of Punjabi Language from Punjab School Education Board or any other recognized Board (as first or second or as additional language) or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language on or before the last date of submission of application.
- B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.V.Sc. with at least second division (from a recognized institution for the Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education post).
- An eminent scholar actively engaged in teaching/research/extension with published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in indexed/ISBN/ISSN numbered journals and as ISBN/ISSN numbered books.
- Ten years’ experience in teaching/research/extension education in the relevant discipline, out of which at least two years should be as Associate Professor or equivalent in the pay scale of Rs. 37400-67000 + AGP/GP Rs. 9000/- (unrevised) and remaining as Assistant Professor or equivalent. (The period spent in obtaining Ph.D. degree will not be counted as research experience).
Post-Specific Qualifications:
- Professor (Animal Nutrition): Ph.D. degree in Animal Nutrition. Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology/Veterinary Pharmacology. Master’s degree in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology/Veterinary Pharmacology with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Livestock Products Technology): Ph.D. degree in Livestock Products Technology/Meat Science/Animal Products Technology. Master’s degree in Livestock Products Technology/Meat Science/Animal Products Technology with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education/Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension/Veterinary Extension. Master’s degree in Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education/Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension/Veterinary Extension with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary Surgery and Radiology): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Surgery & Radiology. Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics/Animal Reproduction Gynaecology & Obstetrics. Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary Medicine): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Medicine. Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
- Professor (Veterinary Clinical Complex): Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Medicine/Veterinary Surgery & Radiology/Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics. Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with minimum OCPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 or 65% marks.
Job Responsibilities
Professor (Animal Nutrition):
- To undertake effective management of Animal Nutrition Farm Complex including agricultural farms.
- To undertake various programmes on Nutritional interventional for farm animals.
- To develop nutritional technologies for farm animal species improvement under field conditions.
- To undertake academic research and extension education work in Animal Nutrition.
- To take initiative/steps in bringing research projects for strengthening the research, teaching and extension education programme.
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Professor (Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology):
- Assigned teaching duties.
- Development of modern teaching facilities.
- Research/extension/education work.
- To take initiative in bringing research projects for strengthening the research and teaching programme.
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Professor (Livestock Products Technology):
- Teaching/Research/Extension duties.
- To take initiative/steps in bringing research projects for strengthening the research, teaching and extension education programme.
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Professor (Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education):
- Teaching/Research/Extension duties.
- To take initiative/steps in bringing research projects for strengthening the research, teaching and extension education programme.
- Any other duty assigned from time to time.
Professor (Veterinary Surgery and Radiology):
- Teaching/Research/Extension duties.
