Assistant Professor – IISER Bhopal (Advt. No. IISERB/DoFA/2026/01)

IISER Bhopal is inviting applications on a rolling basis for permanent faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor across multiple departments. The institute seeks candidates with an excellent academic record and a strong commitment to teaching and research.

Departments Accepting Applications:

• Natural Sciences: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics
• Engineering Sciences: Chemical Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
• Humanities and Social Sciences: Economic Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility & Salary:

Assistant Professor Grade II (Engineering Sciences and Humanities & Social Sciences only):

• PhD with first class at the preceding degree, with outstanding research ability
• Less than 3 years of post-PhD industrial/research/teaching experience
• Salary: Pay Level 10, starting at ₹70,900/month (upgradable to Pay Level 11 after 1 year, subject to performance)

Assistant Professor Grade I (all departments):

• PhD with first class at the preceding degree, with outstanding research ability
• At least 3 years of post-PhD industrial/research/teaching experience
• Salary: Pay Level 12, starting at ₹1,01,500/month (upgradable to Pay Level 13A1 after 3 years of regular service, subject to performance)

Desirable Age: 35 years, with relaxation as per GoI guidelines.

Additional Benefits:

• DA, HRA, TA, and telephone reimbursement as per GoI norms (₹2,250/month for Pay Level 12–13A1; ₹1,200/month for Pay Level 10–11)
• On-campus residential accommodation subject to availability; HRA if accommodation not provided
• New Pension Scheme (NPS) with 14% employer contribution on Basic Pay + DA
• Relocation reimbursement: up to ₹1,25,000 (from abroad) or ₹75,000 (within India)
• CPDA of ₹1,00,000/year for conferences, professional memberships, and books
• Leave Travel Concession, Children Education Allowance, and medical expense reimbursement

Selection Process: Applications are shortlisted by the Departmental Faculty Affairs Committee (DFAC), reviewed by the Institute Faculty Affairs Committee (IFAC), followed by an in-person interview. Candidates based outside India who have recently visited the institute may be permitted to appear online.
