Associate Professor & Professor – IISER Bhopal (Advt. No. IISERB/DoFA/2026/02)

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal is inviting applications on a rolling basis for faculty positions at the level of Associate Professor and Professor across multiple departments. This is a permanent faculty recruitment open to Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).

Departments Accepting Applications:

• Natural Sciences: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics
• Engineering Sciences: Chemical Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
• Humanities and Social Sciences: Economic Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences

Eligibility & Salary:

Associate Professor:

• PhD with first class at the preceding degree and an excellent academic record throughout
• Minimum 6 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 3 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor Grade-I / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer
• Salary: Pay Level 13A2, starting at ₹1,39,600/month

Professor:

• PhD with first class at the preceding degree and outstanding research and leadership track record
• Minimum 10 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 4 years must be at Associate Professor level in IITs, IISc, IIMs, NITIE, IISERs, or equivalent institutions
• Salary: Pay Level 14A, starting at ₹1,59,100/month

Selection Process: Applications are shortlisted by the Departmental Faculty Affairs Committee (DFAC), reviewed by the Institute Faculty Affairs Committee (IFAC), followed by an in-person interview (online permitted for candidates based outside India who have recently visited the institute).

Applications are processed in two half-yearly batches — January to June (processed after 1 July) and July to December (processed after 1 January).
