We are seeking an outstanding scientist to represent the field of biochemistry in research and teaching. The successful candidate will address a fundamental biological question at the molecular level, complementing current research at the Biochemistry Centre (BZH) and thematically linking to existing or future research collaborations. Approaches to this question may include biochemical, cell biological, structural biological, biophysical, and computational methods. The professorship is located within the Faculty of Biosciences and will primarily focus on teaching within the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Biosciences and Biochemistry.

Application requirements include a completed university degree, a qualified doctorate, and pedagogical aptitude, which is generally demonstrated through teaching experience, according to § 47 para. 2 LHG (State Higher Education Act). Additional academic achievements (habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship, or equivalent qualifications) are also required.
