The research area “Integrative Infection Biology: Crop-Livestock Biology” (460 k) focuses on significant infectious diseases. The emphasis is on the characterization of pathogens in crops and livestock, their detection, and fundamental questions in pathogen-host interaction.
Subject to expected approval, the university is seeking a Research Associate (m/f/d) to start no later than October 1, 2026, for a fixed term of 36 months, salary group E13 TV-L, 75%
YOUR TASKS
- Planning and collaboration in the third-party funded project on bacterial diseases in the so-called “Oak Decline”
- Genome sequencing and bioinformatic comparative analyses of bacterial pathogens
- Differentiation of strains with regard to the encoded virulence factors and in diagnostics
- Presentation of work results in lectures, reports and publications
YOUR PROFILE
- MSc degree in Agricultural Sciences, Biology or a related discipline
- Knowledge of molecular biology, phytopathology and/or microbiology
- Willingness to travel on business
- Interest in a PhD
- Advantageous: Prior knowledge of sequencing and genome analysis; driver’s license; German language skills
