Applications are invited for a post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF)/Project Associate in a DBT funded Project entitled: ” Dissecting functional relevance of sorghum MYB032/019 for yield optimization under constrained environmental conditions” at School of Biotechnology, JNU. The selected candidate will be appointed purely on temporary basis, initially for one year as JRF that may be extended to another year based on the performance.

Position: Junior Research Fellow/Project Associate (01)

Essential Qualifications & Experience: Candidate must have Masters degree (with minimum 60% marks or higher) in Plant Sciences/Biotechnology/Life Sciences/Biochemistry/ bioinformatics with CSIR-UGC NET (Equivalent qualification/fellowship) or fulfilling the guidelines of DBT/DST.

Age limit: 28 years on the date of application, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Desirable: Strong theoretical background on plant genetic engineering and research experience in the field of basic plant molecular biology & plant tissue culture of millets is desirable. Consistently good academic record would be a plus.

Salary: Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA as per rules.

Appointment will be purely on temporary basis for one year and co-terminus with the project. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on qualifications/experience depending on the number of applications received. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time.
