Research Associate (m/f/d)
– Pay grade 13 TV-L –
A part-time position (65% of regular weekly working hours) is available. The position is limited to a three-year term.
Employment is within the framework of the collaborative project Agri:change, which focuses on agri-photovoltaic systems on rewetted peatlands: grassland management, forage value of the vegetation, and sheep grazing. The position is located within the departments of Ruminant Nutrition (Head: Prof. Dr. Jürgen Hummel) and Grassland Science (Prof. Dr. Johannes Isselstein).

Your tasks:
• Setting up and managing field trials in PV systems on rewetted peatland grassland
• Conducting and coordinating investigations into the nutritional value of growth from photovoltaic systems or rewetted areas (e.g., nutrient analyses, in-vitro fermentation)
• Conducting a stakeholder survey on agro-photovoltaics or rewetted areas
• Participation in national project meetings and contributing to the handling of project matters
• Statistical analysis of data, preparation of project reports and scientific publications.
Your profile
: • An excellently completed Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or a related field. Subjects
• Prior knowledge of grazing and grassland management issues
• Excellent written and spoken English and German skills
• Knowledge of statistics, ideally with R
• Desirable: Prior knowledge of scientific writing
• Willingness to travel within Germany
• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork.
The position is intended to support the qualification of young scientists and offers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
