The Department of Food Microbiology and Hygiene at the Institute of
Food Science and Biotechnology, University of Hohenheim, is seeking to fill a part-time (50%) position for a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA) starting May 1, 2026. Salary will be based on the TV-L pay scale, pay grade 7. The position is limited to a term ending April 30, 2027.

Special tasks and challenges

  • Support for a current research project in the field of microbial vitamin B12 production in fermentations with plant proteins.
  • Assistance with laboratory organization
  • Completed training as a BTA or MTA
  • Sound practical and theoretical knowledge in microbiological and molecular biological techniques
  • Independent work, high reliability and commitment
  • Teamwork skills and a sense of responsibility
