YOUR TASKS
• Independent monitoring and practical implementation of field trials, greenhouse trials, and potted plant trials, including data collection in close coordination with the scientific staff (approx. 50%)
• Planning, cultivation, preparation, and professional care of experimental plants, taking into account trial-specific requirements
• Independent preparation, maintenance, and care of cold frames and experimental setups
• Technical and organizational support of the greenhouses, including regular inspection of technical equipment, identification of malfunctions, and initiation of appropriate measures in coordination with the responsible departments
• Organization and execution of maintenance, cleaning, and repair work in greenhouse cabins, connecting areas, and work surfaces to ensure proper experimental operations
• Independent planning and execution of the care and maintenance of the institute’s outdoor areas, taking into account the requirements of research and teaching
• Support and participation in the maintenance and further development of the Agricultural Sciences teaching garden
• Organization, needs assessment, and procurement of materials and consumables (e.g., substrates, pots, soil), including storage organization
• Technical coordination and Coordination with researchers, students, technical staff and student assistants within the framework of ongoing experiments
• Collaboration with the experimental station, including organizational coordination of work processes and experimental procedures
• Guidance and support of student assistants in practical work in the experimental operation
YOUR PROFILE
• Completed relevant vocational training (e.g., in horticulture, agriculture, technology, or a craft) at the master craftsman or technician level, or equivalent, with several years of relevant professional experience, or a comparable qualification with corresponding practical experience
• Sound practical experience in handling plants, as well as interest in and understanding of field, greenhouse, and pot experiments in a scientific environment
• Ability to independently organize, carry out, and document practical work in the experimental setting
• Basic technical understanding, particularly in the areas of greenhouse, irrigation, and experimental technology, as well as the ability to monitor technical processes and identify malfunctions
• Strong service and support orientation in collaboration with researchers, students, and technical staff
• Good organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to coordinate different work requirements
• Independent, structured, and reliable work style with a high sense of responsibility
• Team spirit and willingness to flexibly support various work areas
• Physical resilience and willingness to perform practical work indoors and outdoors
• Driver’s license, including for agricultural vehicles (tractors), or equivalent driving experience
